New Library Board Member Appointed

The Worthington Board of Education has appointed Dr. Joseph Saverimuttu to the Worthington Libraries Board. Recommended by the library board, he will fill the seven-year term being vacated by Lauren Fromme from January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2029.

New Library Board Member Joe Saverimuttu

Joe is co-founder and owner of Central Medical, which provides sales, marketing and human resources services for healthcare organizations. He also has experience in the nonprofit sector.

Joe has a doctorate in instructional management from Robert Morris University and a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations from West Virginia University. His bachelor’s degree in marketing is from Wheeling Jesuit University.

Since 2016 Joe has served on the board of the Columbus Collegiate Academy. The school, which is in the Franklinton neighborhood, serves sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. He is also a middle school basketball coach at St. Michael School.

With his human resource, training and marketing background, Joe feels he can make a contribution on the board. He plans to visit each library location once a quarter to get to know staff and learn about their work. In an environment where access to information faces continued security and challenges, he also wants to help ensure everyone has the information available to become informed members of our community.

Because Worthington Libraries serves the Worthington School District, the school board has the responsibility by law for making appointments to the library board, based on its recommendation.

Library Board members are: Kim Anderson, Elizabeth Grieser, Joan Herbers, Abby Polkar, Gary Sandefur and Tom Walsh.
